Samara Payne · University of MarylandI'm very appreciative to be able to receive the Order of the Lamp Scholarship. For this school year so far I've been really working on my classes — I'm taking five classes this semester. One new thing I started since my second year at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore is practicing and playing for the girls lacrosse team. Lacrosse was never a sport that really interested me when I was younger, and I'd never played it before, but I decided this year I would try out because I'm used to team sports. I've been practicing every day since and it's been very fun — I'm waiting for the upcoming season during the spring semester.
